Poke Acupuncture is the creation of husband-and-wife co-founders, Ryan Samuels and Lani Stokes. Both are accredited and qualified practitioners, with over 30 years of combined experience.
Ryan and Lani first met as Chinese Medicine students in British Columbia, Canada more than 10 years ago and established practices in busy multi-disciplinary clinics. In 2016, they proudly opened their first purpose-built Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Centre in Lambton, near Newcastle, NSW. In 2023 Ryan and Lani relocated their practice to beautiful Port Macquaire, NSW.
Both Ryan and Lani believe in taking a holistic, patient-centred approach, and providing individualised healthcare, focused on helping you to achieve your optimum health.

After growing up in Newcastle, NSW, Lani spent many years working and travelling in North America, pursuing Chinese Medicine as a career after a longstanding interest in acupuncture after her childhood skin conditions were addressed with natural medicine.

Born and raised in Western Canada, Ryan began his healthcare career in 2004 as a remedial massage therapist, but became interested in acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine after being successfully treated for rock climbing injuries, and illnesses while living in Asia.
